CALOOCAN City Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan and his son 1st District Congressman Dale “Along” Malapitan continued to provide public health services to the people of North Caloocan even on weekends.
The program, “Serbisyong Tao ang Una” of Mayor Oca and “Serbisyong may Aksiyon at Malasakit” of Congressman Along targeted residents of Barangay 188 in Tala North Caloocan who were given various medical services including free dental and physical check up.
Hundreds of indigent residents were given free medicines, vitamins, eye check-up and free reading glasses by volunteer doctors, ophthalmologist and nurses from the City Health Department.
Mayor Oca and his lawmaker son Along said they wanted to prioritize medical care and well-being of their residents and assured them of providing free medicines for common cold, fever and hypertension especially to senior citizens.
Earlier the city chief executive and Cong. Along visited Barangay 171 in Bagumbong, North Caloocan, and provided free flu vaccines to senior citizens in Villa Luisa to boost their immune system against flu and flu-like viruses that started to peak this rainy season.
The City Health Department encouraged local residents, especially those who are 65 years and older, to take flu shots since they are at the greater risk of serious flu and pneumonia complications.
