A NOTORIOUS “Ipit-taxi” robbery holdup gang struck again victimizing a Chinese national who was stabbed and divested of his money and cellular phones yesterday before dawn in Pasay City.
Ye Han Chai, 21, billeted at Solaire Hotel, was rushed by concerned citizens to the nearest hospital for treatment of a stab wound in the left leg after he was ordered by the suspects to alight from the taxi along Macapagal Avenue.
Pasay police chief Senior Supt. Noel Flores said the victim and his Chinese friend were at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Complex to eat and stroll.
When they decided to part ways around 2 a.m., the victim hailed a taxi and asked the driver to convey him to Solaire Hotel, but upon reaching a dimly lit portion of Macapagal Avenue, two men boarded the cab and announced a holdup.
When the victim tried to resist, he was stabbed by one of the suspects in the left leg before forcibly taking his two cellular phones and P8,000 cash.
Police are now conducting a follow-up operation for possible identification and arrest of the suspects.
