Man jumps to death from mall’s 5th floor

A man allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of a shopping mall Sunday evening in Muntinlupa City.

Pete Anthony Palma, legal age, of 1028 Hermosa St. Bgy. 200, Tondo, Manila died on the spot from severe head injury he sustained when he landed on the lower ground of Starmall in Bgy. Alabang.

Initial report received by Southern Police District (SPD) showed that while Roselyn Dela Marquez, saleslady of one of the stalls in the lower level of 5-storey establishment located at the South Luzon Expressway Service Road was busy tending her goods, she heard a loud thud followed by screaming of mall goers at around 7:10 p.m.

When she checked what was happening, she saw the lifeless body of the victim, wearing black t-shirt and blue basketball short, slumped on the floor with blood oozing from his head.

Muntinlupa police homicide investigator P/CMSgt. Edward Rodriguez said that upon reviewing the footage captured by mall’s CCTV, it showed that the victim jumped off from the fifth floor of the mall.

The victim’s body was brought to PNP Crime Laboratory through the services of Our Lady of Loreto Funeral for autopsy examination.
