Man killed before family

A jobless man was shot and seriously wounded in front of his family inside his abode Tuesday afternoon in Caloocan City.

Mark Dave Cabangunay, 40, was rushed by his relatives to Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center where he was placed under observation due to gunshot wounds in the body while the suspect, identified only as certain Jerqui Pugata alias “Jerki” immediately fled.

In a report received by Caloocan police deputy chief for administration Supt. Ferdie Del Rosario, prior to the incident, the victim and the suspect were having conversation inside the former’s house at 989 Libis Baesa, Bgy. 160, Sta Quiteria at around 1:40 p.m.

For still unknown reason, a heated altercation ensued between the two until the suspect drew an unknown firearm and shot the victim repeatedly in front of his horrified family.

Elements of Caloocan police immediately conducted a follow-up operation but they failed to arrest Pugata who is now the object of police manhunt.

Investigators are still establishing the motive behind the incident.
