A 38-year-old man was killed while a 17-year-old girl was wounded when a still unidentified armed man fired at the former yesterday morning in Tondo, Manila.
Victim Dominic Maquirang, of Gate 8, Parola Compound, Bgy. 20 in Tondo, died on the spot due to a gunshot wound in the neck while the other victim, identified as Ricalyn Luto, of Building 12, Temporary Housing, Aroma Compound, is still recuperating at the Tondo Medical Center for gunshot wounds in the right arm and chest.
The suspect, identified only through his alias as ‘Benjie’, also of Temporary Housing at the Aroma Compound in Tondo, escaped.
A probe by PO3 Joel Ascano of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section said the incident took place at 12:15 a.m. at the Aroma Compound.
Police said Luto was having a drinking session with one Dorothy Ventura when Maquirang arrived, selling watches. Luto was talking to Maquirang about the watches when the lone suspect appeared already armed and fired at Maquirang, who got hit in the left side of the body. On the other hand, Luto was hit by a stray bullet.
The motive for the shooting is still being investigated, along with the suspect’s identity.
