A 46-YEAR-OLD watch technician was mauled after reminding a motorcycle rider that he was parking on a no-parking zone Sunday afternoon in Caloocan City.
The victim, Elmer Sanchez, of 684 Rizal Avenue Extension, Bgy. 71, managed to seek the assistance of barangay officials who brought him to the nearest hospital.
The suspect identified as Jason Malabuyo, 39, jobless and resident of 27 Kalaanan Compound Bgy. 86, escaped.
Members of Bgy. 61, together with Kagawad Rolando Rañada and Ex-O Jimson Mores, immediately conducted a follow-up operation that resulted in the arrest of Malabuyo who was seen walking along Macabagdal Street in Bgy. 86 at around 11:50 p.m.
Investigation showed that Sanchez was manning his watch repair shop at around 2 p.m. when he noticed Malabuyo parking his motorcycle on a no-parking area along Makabagdal Street, prompting the victim to caution the suspect.
Instead of showing his appreciation, the suspect got irked and started to curse and utter unsavory words against Sanchez before mauling the victim.
The suspect was turned over by barangay officials to the Caloocan city police for proper filing of charges for attempted homicide and unjust vexation before the Caloocan City Prosecutor’s Office.
