Marijuana destroyed

September 25, 2019

TWO separate operations in Cebu province last Tuesday resulted in the uprooting and destruction of an estimated P40 million worth of fully-grown marijuana plants and seedlings, Police Regional Office 7 director, Brigadier General Debold M. Sinas told the Journal Group yesterday.

The official said that the first clandestine cannabis site was found on Tuesday morning in Sitio Quo in Barangay Gaas in Balamban, Cebu where some P32 million fully-grown marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on site by members of the Cebu Police Provincial Office headed by Colonel Roderick Mariano.

Three suspected cultivators of the marijuana plants identified as Tisi Palando, Rodrigo Cabalis and Lordi Pragosa are now being hunted by the police. They will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
