A CHINESE woman was arrested yesterday morning by the Mandaluyong Police after allegedly throwing a cup of soya (taho) at a police officer detailed at the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) station in Boni, Mandaluyong City.

The incident happened after the MRT Management on Thursday banned bottled drinks and any other liquid substance following the deadly blasts in Mindanao.

Reports submitted to Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Supt. Bernabe Balba by Mandaluyong Police chief Senior Supt. Moises Villaceran Jr. said the woman was identified as Jiale Zhang, 23, native of China, and a student  taking Fashion Design at the Sofa Design Institute and a Philippine resident for almost 8 years.

Zhang reportedly threw a cup of “taho” at PO1 William  Cristobal who had approached after she was stopped by an MRT security guard from getting on the train with the drink she was carrying.

The Chinese woman refused to give up her cup of soya (taho) during a confrontation with PO1 Cristobal, suddenly threw soya at him.

Other passengers were shocked by the disruptive behavior  of the Chinese woman.

During the investigation, she said she was very hungry as she tried to explain her unruly behavior.

She was detained and is now facing charges of Disobedience and Assaulting a Police Officer.
