A 15-year-old robbery suspect who was among the men who robbed and killed two personnel of a convenience store was wounded during an encounter with policemen on Tuesday night in Quezon City.
Acting Quezon City Police District Director Police Colonel Ronnie S. Montejo said the minor suspect was tagged as among the four robbers who robbed a Minimart on Kapalaran St., in Bgy. Holy Spirit, last October 27 and killed Reymond Dag-ay, 32, the store’s guard, and Romeo Econal, 35, a merchandiser.
Police said they spotted two of the suspects on Kapalaran St. near GPI Veterans Village, in Bgy. Holy Spirit, at around 9 p.m. after they were positively identified by a confidential informant as the same persons who killed the victims. The operatives reportedly approached the suspects but they immediately scampered away.
The lawmen chased the suspects until they were cornered. But instead of surrendering, the 15-year-old minor and his cohort drew their handguns and shot at the police officers prompting the policemen to retaliate.
The minor sustained gunshot wounds in the body and was rushed to East Avenue Medical Center while his cohort escaped.
