MANILA Mayor Isko Moreno has ordered an investigation into allegations that Isetann Cinerama Complex in Recto Avenue was tolerating sex trade by allowing pimps, callboys and gay customers to hunt for their customers in and outside the mall.
Moreno ordered Permits Bureau chief Levi Facundo and Secretary to the Mayor Bernie Ang to relay the message to Isetann operators that he will not tolerate any form of prostitution at the establishment and they would face another closure if the sex trade continues.
Moreno noted the reactions of netizens on his social media account to recorded footages of callboys hunt for customers in the mall.
The information was also confirmed by Ang, who said that he also received information that young boys frequent the mall, looking for gay patrons who would pay for sex.
Ang said sexual acts include oral sex (blowjob) for only P150 for the customer, adding that such encounters usually happen in the toilet or inside the theater.
Moreno said it is the mall’s responsibility to make sure that no such illegal activities take place anywhere in the mall or its vicinity.
