Motorcycle hit by truck, driver dies

A 24-year-old merchandiser died when the motorcycle he was driving was hit by a speeding dump truck Wednesday evening in Valenzuela City.

John Paul Diolola of 244 Data St. Bgy. Paso De Blas succumbed to severe body injuries while being rushed by responding Valenzuela Rescue Team to Valenzuela Medical Center while the driver of the dump truck sped away towards the direction of Malinta.

Valenzuela police chief P/Col. David Nicolas Poklay said the incident happened at around 10:30 p.m. at the northbound lane of MacArthur Highway.

The victim was driving a motorcycle with license plate numbar BA 80393 heading towards Bgy. Karuhatan when he was sideswiped by the dump truck which was travelling in the same direction in front of Fatima Hospital in Bgy. Marulas.

Due to the impact, the victim was thrown off from the motorcycle and his body was run over by the rear tire of the dump truck.

A concerned motorist who witnessed the incident was able to get the temporary license plate of the dump truck which is MV File #-1301-0000638786.
A manhunt against the driver of the dump truck who fled after the incident was launched by Valenzuela Police Traffic Management Unit.
