MPD station chief in hot water for threat to shoot quarantine violators

A STATION commander assigned at the Manila Police District (MPD) is now in hot water after a video went viral on social media of him threatening to shoot residents in Quiapo, Manila who will go out of their houses in violation of the enhanced home quarantine and hitting a violator with a stick.

Newly-installed Manila Police District Director PGen Rolando Miranda said he has ordered an investigation into the incident involving PLtCol Reynaldo Magdaluyo, station commander of the MPD-Police Station 3,

Magdaluyo was quoted in news reports as saying he does not regret what he had done and also admitted that it was him shown on video.

He was also quoted as having said that he was just doing his job and stressed that some residents do not really want to heed the advice to stay at home.

The police official also said that there are persons under investigation (PUIs) and persons under monitoring (PUMs) in the said area.
