A murder suspect tagged by police as Top 1 Most Wanted Person in Navotas City was arrested when he returned home after two months in hiding Tuesday afternoon inside Navotas Fish Port Complex (NFPC).
Navotas police chief P/Col. Rolando Balasabas said elements of Warrant and Subpoena Section led by P/EMSgt Alvin Bautista served the arrest warrant issued by Navotas Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Ronald Torrijos of Branch 288 against Arnold Goma, 18, inside his house at BGA Compound, Navotas Fish Port Complex, Bgy. North Bay Boulevard North (NBBN) at around 2:10 pm.
Col. Balasabas said the arrested suspect was responsible in the killing of Rogel Illustrisimo in December, 2019.
The victim, according to the police, was treacherously stabbed by the suspect in different parts of his body that resulted in his untimely death.
After the killing, the suspect hurriedly escaped prompting investigator to file murder charges against him after elements of Follow-Up Unit failed to locate his whereabouts.
Col. Balasabas said an intensified “Manhunt Charile” was launched after the court issued a warrant of arrest against Goma that resulted in his arrest.
