No mercy for indiscriminate firers -- National Capital Region Police Office

NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office Chief, Director Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar, yesterday assured there will be no mercy for two gun ban violators caught firing their weapons indiscriminately in separate incidents in Manila and Quezon City.

At the same time, the NCRPO chief thanked the concerned citizens who immediately informed the local police of the shooting incident in Malate, Manila which led in the arrest of the shooter identified as Marvjay Dominguez, 29, and eight others.

“I would like to express our gratitude to alert citizens who immediately called the attention of the Manila Police District regarding the case of indiscriminate firing in Malate district. This prompted our SWAT officers and members of the MPD Station 9 to immediately rush to the site where they cornered and arrested the suspects as they were about to escape,” Eleazar said.

In a report to Philippine National Police Chief, Director General Oscar D. Albayalde, the NCRPO chief said that since last January 13, they have already accounted for 19 gun ban violators in Metro Manila, shot dead four armed suspects who evaded checkpoints and confiscated 54 firearms and other deadly weapons and explosives.

The other shooter in Q.C. was identified as one Dennis Castro.
