January 18, 2019

A drug suspect was killed in an alleged shooting encounter with authorities from the Manila Police District (MPD) during a buy-bust operation conducted right inside the Manila North Cemetery in Sta. Cruz, Manila the other day.

MPD Director Senior Supt. Vicente Danao, Jr. identified the suspect as Jarizz Eusebio, alias ‘Nimar,’ 24, said to be a member of the ‘Commando Gang’ and residing at No. 450 Sta. Fe St., Don Bosco, Tondo, Manila.

A report from the MPD-Crimes Against Persons Investigation Section (CAPIS) said the operation was carried out at 4:45 p.m. by operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Team and the Alvarez, Plaza Miranda and Blumentritt police community precincts under the MPD- Station 3, after police received tips regarding the suspect’s illegal drug activities on 9th Street, Avenue B, Manila North Cemetery, Blumentritt Street, Sta. Cruz,  Manila.

PO1 John Barateta reportedly posed as a buyer and bought P200 worth of shabu from the suspect.  Once the deal was consummated, the cop signalled to his colleagues who moved in and had the suspect arrested.

However, police said the suspect took out a gun and fired, but did not hit anyone. PO1 Barateta returned fire and hit the suspect in the different parts of the body.
