A NOTORIOUS drug suspect was killed in a shootout with policemen in a buy-bust operation Monday evening in Navotas City.

Navotas police chief Col. Rolando Balasabas identified the slain suspect as alias “Poloy”, a notorious drug pusher included in the police and barangay drug watch lists.

Col. Balasabas said members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) conducted a drug sting against the suspect on Blk. 10, Market 3, Navotas Fish Port, in Barangay North Bay Boulevard North (NBBN), at around 11 p.m.

After Cpl. Globert Batara, who acted as poseur-buyer, handed the P300 marked money to the suspect in exchange for a plastic sachet of shabu, the suspect drew his firearm and fired shots at the operatives who were about to arrest him. The policemen retaliated and killed the suspect on the spot.

Police recovered from the slain suspect a caliber .45 pistol with magazine loaded with five bullets, 10 pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing undetermined quantity of shabu and the P300 marked money.

In Quezon City, elusive drug peddlers identified as Paolo San Pedro, 29, alias Ico;   Rogelio Pagaruan, 51, and Arthuro Macanatan, 37, all from Bgy. Payatas, were finally arrested by members of the Batasan Police Station (PS 6) during a buy-bust on Pampanga Street, Area B, in Bgy. Payatas, at around 12:30 a.m.

Seized from the suspects were 30 sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of P24,000, a weighing scale and the buy-bust money.

Also arrested in separate anti-drug operations were James Jomar Padilla, 19, and Brix Francis Yome, 18, both of Bgy. Batasan Hills, at about 5:30 p.m. on Monday at the corner of Kalayaan C and Commonwealth Ave. in Bgy. Batasan Hills.

They were initially accosted for littering but when frisked, they yielded 17 sachets of dried marijuana leaves.
