PARANAQUE City Mayor Edwin Olivarez yesterday received an award from reporters covering the southern area of Metro Manila for his feat in pioneering the “no-contact camera apprehension system” in the city.
Ariel Fernandez, president of Progressive Tri-Media of Southern Metro (PTMSM), and other officers hand over to Mayor Olivarez a plaque of appreciation for his most outstanding public service through Innovative Traffic Management Solution.
Mayor Olivarez had earlier spearheaded the implementation of their own contactless traffic-apprehension system which is similar to those in the first world countries like United States, Singapore and other progressive countries.
He said they are now using the latest high-repetition cameras that immediately detect traffic violations committed by motorists and pedestrian especially along Sucat Road and Kabihasnan Road.
City Administrator Head Fernando “Ding” Soriano said their system in contactless traffic-apprehension system aimed to smoothen traffic flow by managing traffic violations committed by motorists.
