CALOOCAN City Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan lauded yesterday policemen for their successful “One-Time-Big-Time” operations resulting in the arrest of 181 individuals involved in illegal activities and 60 others for violating city ordinances Tuesday afternoon.
The simultaneous police operation by joint elements of Caloocan city police, Northern Police District (NPD), Regional Mobile Force Battalion and Maritime Police with the support of Optical Media Board, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and linemen of Manila Electric Company was conducted at around 3 p.m. in different barangays in the southern part of the city that lasted before midnight.
After the termination of the operation, Caloocan police chief P/Col. Noel Flores presented to NPD Director P/Brig. Gen. Rolando Anduyan 78 arrested drug suspects, 14 arrested for illegal possession of firearms, 19 with outstanding warrants of arrest, 22 for violating PD 1602, 48 in other crimes and 60 for violating city ordinances.
Col. Flores said that during the operation, 21 firearms, 212.15 grams of shabu and 7.21 grams of dried marijuana leaves were confiscated while a total of 192 firearms in different caliber were surrendered and confiscated during the implementation of “Oplan Katok” and service of search warrant.
Also confiscated were 27 fake motor vehicle license plates, 10 motorcycles with questionable documents, 122 pieces of storage device, 2,100 pieces of optical media disc with a total estimated value worth P1,145,000 while 270 kilos of electric wires used in illegal connection of electricity were seized.
