A 15-YEAR-OLD allegedly used as a courier by drug dealers was nabbed by Marikina Police and yielded P680 ,000 worth of suspected shabu during an anti-drug operation Saturday morning.
Marikina Police chief, Col Restituto Arcanghel identified the arrested suspect as only as Bara, out of school youth, and resident of Commonwealth, Quezon City.
The girl was busted by members of Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) headed by Capt. Fernildo De Castro in a buy-bust operation along JP Rizal corner Buenmar Streets, Bgy. Nangka, Marikina City at around 10 a.m.
De Castro said prior to the operation they were able to transact a drug deal with a man for the purchase of shabu worth P50,000.
The undercover cop and the man agreed to meet in front of a convenience store at the area.
“Nung nasa area na yung poseur buyer natin nag –text ulit yung ka-transaksyon niya at nagbigay ng bagong number nai-te-text niya para sa pagde-deliver ng illegal drugs. Nagpadala sya message sa binigay na number at sumagot naman na nag-aantay sya at nakasuot ng ganitong damit,” said De Castro said.
However, police were surprised when a 15-year old girl appeared at the area and handed over the 10 medium plastic sachets of shabu.
The girl courier was immediately arrested.
Police recovered another 10 medium plastic sachets of weighing 100 grams with an estimated street value of P680,000 placed inside a brown plastic bag.
The minor girl admitted working as a courier and received P500 –P1,000 for every drug transaction.
De Castro said they are now looking for the drug dealer who asked the minor girl to deliver the illegal drugs.
The girl confessed that they sourced their supply from Montalban, Rizal.
The minor courier was turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
