SOME 25 kilos of high grade shabu with an estimated street value of P170 million were seized by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) from a Chinese national during a buy-bust operation yesterday on the service road of Roxas Boulevard near the Diamond Hotel in Malate, Manila.
Arrested right inside his car, a gray Honda Civic with plate number XZZ-553, was Lin Hua Zen, 42, of Bagong Nayon, Antipolo City.
The operation was conducted at around 2 p.m. and the drugs were found inside the luggage which was placed at the rear portion of the suspect’s vehicle.
The suspect was taken by the PDEA to its office for interrogation while charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against him.
Meanwhile, a drug pusher was killed early yesterday morning near the railroad tracks on Paltoc Street in Sampaloc, Manila, after his activities were relayed by one of his regular customers to the Manila Police District (MPD).
Dead on arrival at Ospital ng Sampaloc was suspect Rechie Inocencio alias ‘Chia’, 32, of Domingo Santiago St., Sampaloc, Manila.
Reportedly, a buy-bust operation was conducted by the Manila Police District-Station 4 in the said area, with the informant joining the police.
Prober SPO3 Oliver Balingit said a policeman posing as buyer bought shabu and once the money was given in exchange for the shabu worth P200, the suspect sensed he was dealing with a cop, drew a gun and then fired at the police but missed.
The cops fired back, fatally hitting the suspect, who was found in possession of a .38-cal. gun and a pouch containing four sachets of shabu.
