A P500,000 reward has been offered by Marikina City Mayor Marcy Teodoro  who could give information into the death of  an Ateneo de Manila (ADMU) student who was found dead on the street a few meters away from his house Saturday morning in Marikina City.

The cash reward offered by Teodoro could help in the identification of the suspects by anyone who could give information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect/s.

Marikina police chief Senior Supt. Roger Quesada earlier  said they are looking into robbery angle as the possible motive for the killing of master’s degree student Francis de Leon, 24, of Bgy. Concepcion Uno.

Police said De Leon was a graduate of Legal Management in ADMU and had worked at the Department of Education under its disaster management division.

The body of De Leon was found along J. Molina St. corner Blue Bird St. in Bgy. Concepcion Uno, Marikina City at around 12:40 a.m. Sunday.

The victim sustained stab wounds in the neck and chest and his cellphone discovered missing.

It was learned that the victim went to Ayala Malls in Marikina to “read and research.”

Based on CCTV footages in the area, the victim was seen walking home at around 1 a.m. and nobody was seen following him before he was killed.

Earlier, the DepEd called for justice in the killing of De Leon.

De Leon was a contingency planner for the public education sector who was taking up his master’s degree in Disaster Risk and Resilience at Ateneo de Manila University at the same time.

The DepEd condemned the senseless killing of De Leon.
