THE Quezon City government has offered a P5 million reward for any information that will lead to the identification and arrest of the killers of a barangay chairwoman-turned Q.C. congressional candidate in the May 13 elections, National Capital Region Police Office chief, Director Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar said yesterday.
The official said the money would be given to individuals who will provide the NCRPO and the Q.C. Police District headed by Chief Superintendent Joselito T. Esquivel Jr. the vital information that will result in the arrest and prosecution of the killers and their ‘brains.’
“Napakalaking bagay ang initiative ng ating lokal na pamahalaan ng Quezon City sa pagbibigay ng pabuya, itong P5 million na ito,” Eleazar said while noting that in most cases, offer of big reward money have resulted in the solution of celebrated cases.
The NCRPO director said that his investigators are initially looking into politics as the motive behind the killing as he noted that Crisell ‘Beng’ Beltran, the chairwoman of Bgy. Bagong Silangan and his driver were killed during the election period.
“Pinag-aaralan lahat ng anggulo pero initially nga dahil tayo ay nasa election period at itong si kapitana ay elected official na tumatakbo bilang congressional candidate sa second district ng Quezon City, tinitignan natin kung mako-consider ito na merong political motive,” Eleazar said.
