P.7M shabu seized in Quiapo drug bust

OVER 100 grams of shabu worth nearly P.7 million were seized by Manila Police District (MPD) operatives during a buy-bust operation in Quiapo, Manila late afternoon on Wednesday.

Those nabbed were identified as Nurmilah Ibrahim, 36, of Mamisan Street, San Miguel, Manila; Abubakar Maraorao, 31, of R.Hidalgo St., Quiapo and Leonardo de Castro, 42, of  Maayon St., Quiapo.

P/Lt. Job Jimenez reported that the operation was carried out at around 4:30 p.m. at the corner of Carlos Palanca, Sr. and Rawatan Streets in Quiapo.

A policeman posing as a buyer was able to purchase shabu worth 1,000 and when they pounced on the suspects, the police were able to find in their possession seven sachets containing a total of 101 grams and with a street value of P600,800.

The suspects have been charged with Violation of Section 5 (Selling, Distribution and Transportation of Dangerous Drug) and Section 11 (Illegal Possession of Dangerous Drug), Article ll of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
