A 43-year-old electrician moonlighting as drug peddler and his two cohorts were arrested for selling drugs and possession of gun shortly after midnight yesterday in Navotas City.

Navotas police chief P/Col Rolando Balasabas said elements of Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by P/Lt. Charlie Bontigao conducted buy-bust operation at around 12:35 a.m. against Edwin Laderas, alias “Spider” along Judge A. Roldan St. Bgy. San Roque that resulted in the confiscation of shabu worth P97,240.00 and unlicensed Armscor caliber .38 revolver.

Laderas, Rency Santos, 19, both of Judge A. Roldan St. and Ricardo Del Mundo, 41, of Everlastin St., Bgy. San Roque were allegedly responsible in the proliferation of illegal drugs in Bgy. San Roque and were listed in a drug watch list in the said barangay.

They were arrested after they handed a small plastic sachet of shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P300 marked money.

When frisked, Laderas yielded the marked money and a gun tucked on his waist while six pieces of small plastic sachet of shabu weighing 14.3 grams were also confiscated by police from the suspects.

The three will be charged for violation of Section 5 (selling) and Section 11 (possession) of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act while an additional case for violation of R.A. 10591.
