FLAG carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) yesterday announced that its cabin crew in flights to and from China now wear masks as a protective measure.
PAL spokesperson Ma. Cielo Villaluna said that when passengers of these flights request for masks from the crew, they are also provided.
‘We encourage our passengers to practice simple and sensible preventive measures advised by the Bureau of Quarantine and the World Health Organization (WHO),’ she said.
Villaluna said they are as follows: wash hands thoroughly with soap and water and use alcohol-based hand rub;cover mouth with tissue when coughing/sneezing; avoid close contact with anyone with colds or flu-like symptoms; thoroughly cook eggs and meat; avoid unprotected contact with wild or farm animals; drink plenty of water and use a face mask for added protection.
Meanwhile, Villaluna said that departing travelers are advised to not proceed with their trip if experiencing any of the following symptoms: respiratory problems, cough and colds, flu, high body temperature, shortness of breath and difficulty in breathing.
