THE Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) handed out grocery packs to families affected by Typhoon Rolly in Laguna on Saturday.
Royina Marzan-Garma, PCSO general manager, led the distribution of diapers, grocery packs containing five kilos of rice, powedered milk, canned goods, blankets and bath soaps in San PAblo City.
PCSO also donated the grocery packs and additional vitamins in Calamba City.
A total 1,000 recipients from two cities in Laguna received the said donations.
Garma said she wants the PCSO to always be the first government agency to extend charity to the people.
“I want PCSO to always be the first government agency to extend help in times of disaster. The people affected with calamities like this must always feel the presence of the government,” the general manager said. “We are the charity arm of the government that is why we must always be there to help”.
Laguna was also hit by Typhoon Rolly while Catanduanes and Bicol were hardest hit by the typhoon on November 1.
