Pickup drives off multilevel hotel parking

A DRIVER was injured when the vehicle he was driving malfunctioned and fell from the second floor of the parking space of a hotel yesterday morning in Ortigas, Pasig City.

Pasig Police chief Col. Rizalito Gapas identified the victim as Rocky Yabut, 30. He sustained fractured left arm and left leg.

Gapas said the incident happened at the open space parking of the Malayan Plaza Hotel located at the corner of Topaz and Opal Roads in Bgy San Antonio, at around 11: 25 a.m.

The victim was about to leave the area driving a 4x4 ford ranger pick up owned by Rolan M. Roque of Unit 3102 of the Malayan Plaza Hotel.

Yabut was driving the vehicle at the second floor when the vehicle suddenly lost its brakes and rammed the metal fence before  plunging  down to the ground floor.

Emergency rescue personnel, policemen and firefighters immediately responded.
