PLEB member shot dead

A 57-year-old government employee and   member of People’s Law Enforcement Board (PLEB) was killed by two armed assailants Wednesday in Caloocan City.

Ismael Villafañe, of Emerald Street, Congressional Model House Subdvision, Camarin, died on the spot from bullet wounds in the body inflicted by the suspects who fled on a motorcycle.

Caloocan police chief Col. Noel Flores said elements of Police Community Precinct (PCP) 5 immediately conducted a dragnet and follow-up operation but they failed to arrest the suspects.

Lt. Joe Mar Ronquillo, head of Station Investigation Unit (SIU), said the incident happened at around 8:45 a.m. on Givenchy St. in Bgy. 175 Camarin.

The victim was checking his under construction house when the suspects appeared from behind and shot him repeatedly.

Police are eyeing personal grudge and his work as member of PLEB as  motives behind the killing.
