PHILIPPINE National Police Deputy Chief for Operations, Lieutenant General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa yesterday opened a 30-day reformatory training for 50 erring policemen ordered sent to the PNP Training School in Subic.

Lt. Gen. Gamboa said that the 50 police personnel are the latest to join the month-long Focused Reformation/Reorientation and Moral Enhancement for Police Officers in Line with Internal Cleansing Efforts or FORM POLICE ordered by PNP chief, Gen. Oscar D. Albayalde.

“This is part of our continuing intensified internal cleansing campaign. This is part of the PNP leadership’s effort to heed the call to add more teeth to enforce and reform the police ranks especially those who are involved in illegal activities,” the PNP’s no. 3 official said.

According to Gamboa, the 3rd batch of FORM POLICE trainees come from the Police Regional Office 1 in Ilocos-Pangasinan region, PRO2 in Cagayan Valley, PRO3 in Central Luzon, PRO4-A in Calabarzon region, the National Capital Region Police Office, the PNP Intelligence Group, the PNP Internal Affairs Service and the PNP Directorate for Intelligence.

Gen. Albayalde noted that most of the erring policemen have been slapped with criminal and administrative charges, some of them even charged before the Office of the Ombudsman for maltreatment and crimes against persons.

“As I have said from the very start of my administration as the PNP Chief, I will not tolerate these erroneous acts of some PNP personnel. I impose a strict discipline, reform and internal cleansing to this organization. Some of them will be penalized with demotion and suspension,” Albayalde said in referring to the erring police personnel.
