Police conduct deeper probe into death of Ateneo student

MARIKINA Police are conducting a thorough investigation into the death of an Ateneo de Manila (ADMU) student who was found dead on the street few meters away from his house early on Saturday morning in Marikina City.

Marikina Police chief Senior Supt. Roger Quesada said they are looking into robbery angle as the possible motive in the killing of master’s degree student Francis de Leon, 24, of Bgy. Concepcion Uno.

Police said De Leon was a graduate of Legal Management in ADMU and had worked at the Department of Education under its disaster management division.

Based on CCTV footages in the area, the victim was seen walking home at around 1 a.m. and nobody was seen following him before he was killed.

The Marikina Police chief said his men are regularly conducting patrol in the area.
