Police officer killed by 4 in Taguig ambush

AN active police officer was killed in an ambush perpetrated by four armed men Monday evening in Taguig City,

P/MSgt. Napoleon Zamora, 45, presently assigned at the National Capital Regional Police Office, Regional Headquarters Support Unit (NCRPO-RHSU) in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds in the body.

Investigation showed that the victim was on board his motorcycle, a Yamaha NMAX 155 and was traversing along MLQ St. Purok 1 Bgy., Bagumbayan at around 7:20 p.m. when four armed men on two separate motorcycles blocked his path.

The suspects, without a word, fired successive shots, hitting the victim in the body before they sped away towards an unknown direction. 

Joint elements of Taguig Police Investigation Unit, Intelligence Branch and Follow-Up Unit immediately conducted a follow-up operation but they failed to identify and arrest the suspects.

Taguig police homicide investigators are now conducting a follow-up investigation to determine the motive behind the killing.
