A suspected drug pusher was killed while four others, including the fatality’s elder brother, were arrested in a buy-bust operation Wednesday night in Valenzuela City.

Valenzuela police chief Senior Supt. David Nicolas Poklay said Christian Padilla, 25, a construction worker, succumbed to bullet wounds in the body while being rushed to Valenzuela City Emergency Hospital while his brother, Jonathan, 33, along with Jaime Javier, 46, Jordan Jay Lopez, 28, and Amado Candelaria, 28, all residents of Road 1, Lingahan, Malanday, were arrested by police.

Investigation conducted by SPO2 Randell Adora and PO3 Josephus Melpaz showed that at around 7:30 p.m., elements of Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by Chief Insp. Jowilouie Bilaro conducted a buy-bust operation against Padilla in front of his house at 279 M.H. Del Pilar St., Bgy. Malanday.

When Padilla handed two packs of shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P500 marked money, the police decoy gave the pre-arranged signal to the arresting officers.

However, when the suspect sensed the approaching lawmen, he pulled out a caliber .38 revolver and fired at the policemen before he ran inside his house.

An exchange of gunfire ensued until the suspect was hit in the body while four of his cohorts, who were allegedly sniffing shabu, were arrested.

Police recovered at the crime scene the cal. .38 revolver, buy-bust money, an unsealed plastic sachet with traces of shabu and several drug paraphernalia.
