SOME 1,000 indigent families, persons with disabilities (PWD) and senior citizens received bags filled with grocery items as Christmas gifts from private companies in coordination with local government yesterday in Pasay City.
Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the giving out of bags full of grocery items was a yearly tradition of the local government to ensure that poor families would have food on the table while celebrating Christmas.
Seven private companies, engaged in business process outsourcing based in Pasay city led by Jindingyuan Business Support Inc. and Jinshenglong Business Support Inc., provided more than 1,000 bags distributed to the poor families.
Mayor Emi, together with Congressman Tony Calixto and representatives of BPO Group of Companies, led the distribution of grocery bag which was held at the Cuneta Astrodome.
