Quezon City blast probed

THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) is now investigating an  explosion near a Korean restaurant in Quezon City shortly after midnight.

QCPD Director, Police Brigadier General Joselito T Esquivel Jr. said Kamuning Police Station (PS 10) under PLtCol Louise Benjie Tremor received a telephone call from a concerned citizen regarding an alleged hand grenade explosion at about 12:40 am, Thursday, in front of a Korean restaurant in Scout Tuazon St. corner Timog Ave., Bgy. South Triangle.

Operatives of PS 10 responded and relayed the information to Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine (EOD/K9), under PCPT Noel Sublay.

They immediately conducted technical investigation and recovered one safety lever, one striker spring and fragments from the body of an MK-2 Fragmentation Hand Grenade.
