THE Quiapo Church will be holding more masses to make up for the cancellation due to COVID-19 of the yearly ‘Traslacion,’ the procession that highlights the Feast of the Black Nazarene which is the biggest religious event in the country attended by millions.
Rev. Msgr. Hernando Coronel, rector of the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene, said 15 masses will be held on January 9, the feast day itself.
The said masses to be held at the Quiapo Church will begin 4:30 a.m. while the last mass will be at 10:15 p.m. where devotees are expected to attend.
LED screen monitors will be installed outside the Church for those who will attend the mass from outside. An image of the Nazarene will be put at the balcony of the church.
Church authorities are appealing to devotees to continue observing health protocols, particularly physical distancing and wearing of face masks and face shields.
It was learned that eight masses will also be held at the Sta. Cruz Church, six at the San Sebastian Church and three at the Nazarene Catholic School.Publication Source : People's Tonight
