THE Manila Police District- General Assignment and Investigation Section (MPD-GAIS) filed charges against 20 members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community who were arrested while engaging in a rally in Mendiola, Manila the other day.
They were charged with violation of BP 880 and Art.151 in relation to RA 11332 for conducting a rally without a permit and violating the health protocol against mass gathering.
"The leadership of MPD will not allow these destibilizers to continue with their desire to create havic,specially today wherein we are facing a pandemic," said MPD Director PBGen Rolando Miranda.
Miranda added that in these times of pandemic, everybody’s cooperation and discipline are needed.
The suspects were nabbed along Mendiola while conducting a protest rally at around 11:30 a.m.
