THE Department of Public Works and Highways yesterday said the structural retrofitting of the Presidential Management Staff building on Arlegui Street in San Miguel, Manila, is almost complete.
During an inspection conducted by DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain and PMS Acting Head Undersecretary Ferdinand B. Cui Jr., they were assured that the structural retrofitting works of the 12-storey PMS building is now sufficiently completed.
PMS is an attached office to Office of the President that provides technical assistance and advice to the President in exercising overall management of the development process.
The retrofitting of the PMS office building, with floor area of 12,592 square meters, is divided into five phases.
The first three phases which includes Phase 3a costs a total of P791.874 million while Phase 3b and Phase 4 with funding requirement of P180.071 million will cover completion of ground to roof deck floor finishes, doors and interior glass walls, installation of new roofing and solar panels, and other modern building features.
