A 26-YEAR-OLD rider who was accosted for not wearing helmet landed in jail after yielding a snub nose revolver and plastic sachets containing shabu Sunday afternoon in Las Piñas city.
Las Piñas police chief P/Col. Rodel Pastor said Mark Magaway, construction worker and resident of Carnation St., TS Cruz Subdivision, Bgy. Almanza Dos, was driving a motorcycle along Daang Reyna Avenue when he was flagged down at around 1:30 p.m. for not wearing a safety helmet by operatives of Sub-Station-6 who were conducting “Oplan-Sita”
Upon verification, P/Maj. Jeric Tilaon noticed something bulging on Magawa’s waist. When frisked, the rider yielded a cal. 38 snub nose revolver loaded with four live ammunition and three small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 0.35 grams of shabu valued at P3,000.
Case investigator P/Cpl. Benigno Baladjay said the suspect was presented for inquest proceedings before the Las Piñas City Prosecutor’s Office on charges for possession of illegal drugs and violation of R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.
