THE National Parks Development Committee will be launching Rizal Park’s newest attraction at the back of the Quirino Grandstand between Harbor View and Manila Ocean Park on December 14.
NPDC Executive Director Penelope Belmonte said the attraction was named after the famous Manila sunset: “Sunset View Concert by the Bay.
She said it will feature Filipino cultural songs and dances and there will be contemporary musical performances after the traditional “Lights On” which will take place at 6 p.m.
Other activities lined up for the holidays are the “Nine Nights of Christmas Carols” and “Simbang Gabi” from December 15 to 23 and the “Christmas Day Concert” on December 25 and the celebration of “Niños Inocentes” and “Children’s Day” on December 28.
A grand New Year countdown will happen on December 31.
“Christmas should inspire everybody to value love for family and for one another, as God has given us the Child Jesus as our Lord and Savior on Christmas Day. We too must give and share our blessings to others, especially those who have less in life. Thus the event dubbed ‘Guided by the Stars’, will enjoin people to be givers of light and hope to others,” Belmonte said.
