A 49-YEAR-old man who repeatedly raped and turned her stepdaughter into sex slave for almost 12 years and impregnated her was nabbed by Pasig police following an operation inside a hospital in Pasig City Thursday.
Pasig Police chief, PCol. Rizalito Gapas Jr, identified the suspect as Francis Asuncion, jobless and resident of Dona Aurora St., Bgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.
Gapas said Asuncion was nabbed by a team of Warrant and Subpoena Section headed by SPO4 Joey Jacla inside the Rizal Medical Center (RMC) in Bagong Ilog at around 12 p.m. while he was with his son who was scheduled for a medical check-up.
The arrest was based on the virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Judge Maria Rowena Asuncion Modesto-San Pedro of the Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 158, for the crime of Rape.
Investigation showed, the suspect has been sexually abusing his 22-year old stepdaughter for several times since she was 10 years old or 12 years ago inside their residence in Bgy.Pinagbuhatan.
It was learned that the suspect is the live-in partner of the victim’s mother.
Based on the complaint-affidavit, the suspect allegedly forced himself into the victim while her mother left their house for work.The raped even happened while the victim’ s mother was around.
However police said, the victim’s mother knew what was going on for a long time and just ignore the situation.
According to Jacla, the raped was discovered by the victim’s relatives after the victim was impregnated on December 2018. Then they immediately filed case against the suspect.
The child is 5 months old now, police said.
Meanwhile, teams of District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) headed by PMajor Darwin Guerrero collared a man wanted for allegedly raping his former girlfriend.
Guerrero said, suspect Paul Nares, 22, of Villa Susana, Bgy. Caniogan, Pasig City has been hiding for two years. He has been moving from one place to another to evade arrest.
Police nabbed Nares based on warrant of arrest issued by Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 261 Judge Florian Gregory Abajon dated April 2016 following a tip-off from an informant.
The rape came to light after the suspect broke off his relationship with the victim.
The two arrested suspects are now detained at the Pasig Police detention cell.
