A security guard and a vegetable dealer were killed by motorcycle-riding suspects in Port Area, Manila the other night.
Security guard Arnel Puno, 41, of Block 15-B, Baseco Compound and vegetable dealer Shirley Ebora, 35, of Sto. Cristo, Binondo, Manila, died on the spot.
P/Captain Henry Navarro, chief of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section, said the incident is being investigated to establish the identity of the victims and the motive behind the killing that took place at 8:20 p.m. on Tuesday in the vicinity of Muelle del Rio and 2nd Streets in Port Area.
Puno was reportedly driving the motorcycle with Ebora riding in the back when the two suspects arrived and shot them repeatedly.
The victims fell and sustained gunshot wounds in the different parts of the body. The suspects meantime, escaped and left behind six spent shells.
Navarro said police is looking into the possibility that the incident may have something to do with the money lending business of Ebora, who is said to be accompanied by Puno each time she collected debts.
It was learned that police found Ebora’s money intact in her bag, along with a list of collectibles.
