ERSTWHILE Police Regional Office 7 director Brigadier General Debold M. Sinas will officially assume as new National Capital Region Police Office director today after successfully commanding the Central Visayas police force for more than a year.
Sinas will be taking over the place of his mistah from Philippine Military Academy ‘Hinirang’ Class of 1987, Major General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar who has been named as the new Philippine National Police Chief Directorial Staff, the fourth highest position in the 195,000-strong police force.
PNP Officer-in-Charge Lieutenant General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa will be presiding over the turnover of command at the NCRPO headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City starting at 8 a.m. today.
Sinas is a known strict disciplinarian who helped restore discipline at the PNP national headquarters in Camp Crame when he was still the PNP Secretary to the Directorial Staff. He later became a director of the PNP Crime Laboratory and eventually the PRO7.
As Central Visayas police director, Sinas supervised a massive crackdown against illegal drug trafficking and abuse, communist insurgency, terrorism and rogues in uniform leading to the neutralization of dozens of the most notorious criminals and drug traffickers in the region.
Sinas is a veteran police intelligence and operations officer who also had a stint in Mindanao and Visayas before joining the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in the early 2000.
As NCRPO director, he will be automatically getting his 2nd-star or the rank of Police Major General. On the other hand, Eleazar will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General with his new position.
