SSS employee with heart ailment killed over petty quarrel

AN employee of the Social Security System (SSS) who had just undergone a heart bypass surgery died after he was hit in the nape by a man following an altercation in a passenger bus Thursday night in Quezon City.

The victim identified as Robin Rosales, 48, of Caloocan City, was declared dead on arrival at the Philippine Heart Center.

Quezon City Police District Director Police Brigadier General Joselito T. Esquivel Jr. identified the suspect as Dionicio Dilubio, 23, of Bgy. Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City.

The suspect and the victim were passengers on a bus when they engaged in a heated altercation resulting in a fist fight. They were pacified by other passengers.

After the victim and his wife alighted from the bus at the corner of EDSA and Kamias Road in Kamuning, they were followed by the suspect who hit  the victim on the nape.

Operatives of District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB) personnel who were patrolling in the area arrested the suspect.

During investigation, Rosales’s wife revealed that the victim had just undergone a heart bypass surgery.

The suspect will be charged with murder before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
