A STUDENT tagged as one of the most wanted criminals in the metropolis who has been accused of rape was nabbed by joint members of the Eastern Police District and Pasig Police following an operation in Pasig City Tuesday night.

A report submitted to EPD director, PBrig. Gen. Johnson Almazan, by Pasig Police chief PCol. Moises Villaceran Jr. identified the suspect as Janrick Rendal, 19, ALS student and resident of Nagpayong, Bgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.

Two other unidentified companions of Rendal were also accused of gang rape of a 16-year-old girl in a drinking spree but these two suspects are still being hunted.

Rendal, No. 4 in NCRPO’s wanted list, was collared by joint members of District Intelligence Unit (DIU) and Paig Police Intelligence chief PMajor Melvin Medrano during an operation along Guyabano Ext., Napico, Bgy Manggahan at around 6:30 p.m. while on his way home from a basketball game.

Rendal was nabbed based on the warrant of arrest issued by Judge Elma Rafallo-Lingan of Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 153 for charges of rape dated Oct. 25, 2018.

The 16-year-old victim was allegedly gang-raped by Rendal and his two companions when she became unconscious due to drunkenness when they drank on January 29, 2018.

The suspects brought the girl to a makeshift house where she was allegedly raped by the three, according to the police.
