THE operations of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT) 3 were temporarily limited after a 21-year-old scavenger  jumped on the train tracks yesterday afternoon in Makati City.

Makati police chief Col. Rogelio Simon said Mas UD Sandamon, native of Marang, Sumisip, Basilan, died on the spot from severe head and body injuries after he fell on the inter-station tracks of Ayala and Buendia in Bgy. Urdaneta.

The incident happened at around 1:30 p.m. which prompted the MRT 3 management to temporarily limit the operation from North Avenue to Shaw Boulevard Stations.

Col. Simon said a lifeless Sumisip was found by police and security personnel of the MRT-3 lying on his back on the railroad tracks. The victim was half naked and wearing only an extended short pants.

MRT-3 management resumed its normal operation at around 2:47 p.m. after the body of the victim was moved to the PNP Crime Laboratory for autopsy examination.

Police said they are still conducting a follow-up investigation to determine if the victim accidentally fell or committed suicide by jumping off the railway.
