Surrenderee, 2 others held for selling drugs

SAN JUAN Police nabbed a former drug surrenderee who was along with two men including a teenager  following a raid inside his house allegedly being used to sell illegal drugs early morning on Sunday.

In a report submitted to Eastern Police District (EPD) director PBrig. General Nolasco Bathan, San Juan Police chief, PCol. Ariel R.Fulo identified the suspect as John Mark Ubas, alias Ubas, 31;  Criest John Masalihit, alias CJ, 19 , assistant chef and Bryan Bellocillo, alias Toto, 24,all residents of  Bgy. West Crame, San Juan City.

Fulo said teams of Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) headed by PCapt  Edwin Malabanan and his men conducted the raid after weeks of surveillance once they  received information about the continuous drug peddling activities of Ubas.

Armed with search warrant issued by Executive Judge Danilo  Cruz, Pasig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 152 for violation of RA 9162 or the Comprehensive Illegal Drugs Act of 2002, the police team swooped down on Ubas’ house at No 31 3rd West Crame, Bgy West Crame, San Juan City at around 1 am Sunday.

The aiding teams seized 5 sachets of suspected illegal drugs from Ubas concealed inside a flashlight.

Two other suspects who were about to have a drug transaction with Ubas were also collared during the raid.

According to Fulo, Ubas is a notorious drug pusher in the area who has been involved in illegal activities for a long time based on validation by the police. He is listed in the San Juan Police Station’s drug watch list.

Ubassurrendered under “Oplan Tokhang” in 2016 but failed to undergo the community based-drug rehabilitation program “Rehab sa Barangay”, a project of the city government for users and pushers who voluntarily surrendered to authorities.
