A WOMAN was injured when the motorcycle she was driving was hit from behind by an SUV also being driven by a woman, along Felix Huertas Street corner Tayuman Street in Sta. Cruz, Manila the other day.
PSMS Jay Santos, investigator at the Manila District Ttaffic Enforcement Unit-Vehicle Traffic Investigation, identified the victim as Zephanie Garbin, 23, online seller, of 536 L Nadurata St., 5th Ave., Caloocan City.
Garbin was rushed to the hospital by Shaylla Marie Paula Manalo, 25, a medical technologist, driver of an Isuzu Alterra SUV (WHO- 478), of Tower 4 Unit 40, Avida Towers, SM San Lazaro, Felix Huertas, Sta. Cruz.
Investigation showed the incident occurred at around 4:30 p.m. while the two were cruising along the southbound lane of Felix Huertas.
The victim reportedly stopped at a red light signal and was checking on her cellphone when the light turned green. When she began moving, the SUV hit her from behind. She sustained an injured foot.
Meanwhile, another rider was also injured after his motorcycle was hit from behind by a tractor head.
Juanito Reyes, 62, a checker, of No. 4529 Tagumpay St., Tanza, Navotas, was driving his motorcycle when an Isuzu gigamax tractor head (NBE- 3858) being driven by Argie Abao, 40, of C.P. Garcia St., Tondo, hit his motorcycle from behind while he was cruising along the Del Pan flyover at around 11:30 a.m.
It was learned that before hitting the victim’s motorcycle from behind, the tractor head had already hit the center railing of the Delpan flyover and lost control.
