October 26, 2019

THE Special Mayor’s Reaction Team (SMaRT) headed by Major Rosalino ‘Jhun’ Ibay arrested a Taiwanese national on the complaint of a 16-year-old girl who said the suspect raped her after taking shabu in his condominium unit in  San Andres, Malate, Manila early yesterday morning.

The Taiwanese was identified by Ibay as Wei Tang Yao, 55.

The victim, a student in a school in Pandacan, told Ibay that before the rape took place, her friend identified only as “Alma” had brought her to the suspect’s condominium unit on two occasions, just to eat.

On their latest visit at around 12:30 a.m. yesterday, the victim said Alma stepped out and it was then that she got raped by the suspect. It was learned that they had downed intoxicating drinks before Alma left.

The victim said she then locked herself inside the comfort room and called up their neighbor who happened to be a police officer.

When police arrived, they confiscated four plastic sachets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.

The suspect denied the charges but reportedly admitted that he is a shabu user.  Ibay said verification showed that the suspect had been previously arrested in Region 3 on illegal drugs charges.

Ibay said the suspect was charged with rape before the Manila City Prosecutors’ Office.
