NAVOTAS City Mayor John Rey Tiangco has tied up with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to bring the service of the agency’s Market on Wheels which offered basic commodities at affordable prices to Navoteños.
On the first day of Market on Wheels caravan at the Navotas City Hall yesterday, hundreds of Navoteños flocked to buy rice and other food items sold at low prices which personally witnessed by Mayor Tiangco.
Tiangco extended his deep appreciation to DTI officials who approved his request to extend the promotion of selling rice and other prime commodities at lower prices to his constituents who, like others, were suffering financial burdens with the soaring inflation rate.
The city chief executive, who personally witnessed how his constituents patiently lined up to buy rice and other prime commodities, is thinking of some ways to bring the Market of Wheels to densely-populated barangays in the city.
The DTI Market on Wheels caravan was accomplished under the producer-to-consumer market program of the DTI, National Food Authority (NFA) and the Department of Agriculture to bring rice and fresh agricultural products to the people at affordable prices.
