THE first district of Tondo has overtaken Sampaloc as the area with the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Manila.
Figures presented by Mayor Isko Moreno on Saturday night showed Sampaloc also now trails Tondo 1 in terms of suspected cases and the number of those who have died of COVID-19.
Moreno said the spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in Tondo 1 may be attributed to the continued mass testing being done by the city government’s health personnel that followed the two-day lockdown recently enforced there.
The second district of Tondo meanwhile, remains on the third spot in the number of active and suspect cases.
As of 5 p.m. of May 9, Moreno said Manila recorded 876 confirmed COVID-19 cases. Of the number, 1007 are suspect; 93 are probable and 652 are actives cases. The total number of those who recovered is 141 while 83 died.
Meanwhile, Moreno said he is setting up his new official website that the residents of Manila may visit to get updates regarding the COVID-19 situation in the city.
Moreno said that apart from details on the goings-on in Manila with regard COVID-19, one will also be able to find on his new website “data that you can use as guide, as well as information and updates about Manila.”
“Maglalagay kami ng mga detalye sa mga darating na araw patungkol sa COVID,” the mayor said.
